This week I was diagnosed with a sinus infection which left me discontent
I had a 102° fever and my face throbbed with pain which was quit a torment
I couldn't go to school or track practice for two days
When I did come back I'll admit in most of my classes I found myself in a daze
What bothered me the most was I got sick a few days away from my first track meet
I knew coming back to practice I would be out of shape and I didn't want to be beat
Plus my health wasn't at it's peak which increased my chances for defeat
I have to give it my all if I want to be ready to go against the Ridgefield Royals
We have never faced them in a duo meet so I'm not sure if they are good
We have both been at a disadvantage due the the recent weather
The preseason has been filled with rainy and snowy days, but we've pulled it together
I'm so excited to run my favorite race, the 200 meter
This year I'm using a starting blocks to help me go faster, everyone uses them so don't think I'm a cheater!
I'll have to wait until Wednesday to see who's the better team
Both teams will be running for one common dream:
To be the best runners and to be the most supreme team in the league!

Sinus infections are rough :/
ReplyDeleteDon't worry though I'm sure we'll beat Ridgefield and you will do great as well!
I'm sorry you had a rough time dealing with your sinus infection! I enjoyed reading your poem for it flowed very smoothly. I wish you the best of luck on the rest of your season! :]
ReplyDeleteThis was such a cute poem! It really stinks when something like a sinus infection gets in the way of achieving what you've been working so many weeks for. I especially loved the last three lines of your poem! No sinus infection can stop you, though; you've been doing awesome so far this season. :)
