"Should I Run Track or Apply for a Job"

Since basketball is nearly over and the spring season is almost here
I ask myself the same question I've been asking for the past four years
Should I run track or apply for a job?

Running is my favorite way to spend time when I'm stressed
When I'm worked up about anything and go for a jog, my whole body is at rest
That's why I love track and it keeps me in shape too
Track also has various events that you can do
High jump, 100 meters, and hurdles are some events you can pursue.
Should I run track or apply for a job?

Having a job also has benefits especially with the economy we are in
I need to save up money before I go to college so I can pay for my knowledge
Also, I wouldn't have to ask my parents for cash
Which would force me to be smart with my money and not spend it in a flash
Should I run track or apply for a job?

Please God help me with this decision before I begin to sob
I think I know what I'll end up doing. Go ahead and take a guess!
Let's just say spring is going to be a season with no stress.

  3. Tough decision Kelly! I would also be stuck and indecisive! Running track has its benefits and having a job also has its benefits! Good luck on your decision, I’m sure it will be the correct one:)

  4. I like how you repeated the question after the first three stanzas! But it's good that you decided to run track. It's better to enjoy the last few months of senior year rather than stressing out with a job. Have fun!

  6. I love the way you wrote your poem and how you kept repeating the same line, "Should I run track or apply for a job?" I think the repetition of that line kept me interested in your poem. I also like the picture of you running and it is not hard to tell what you are going to end up doing in the spring! Have fun with track and win some medals!!

  7. I feel like that is always a struggle, to apply for a job or do a sport. I'm so happy though that you chose to do track, it is definitely less stress and you seem to really enjoy it.
